Why Shifa School?
Having tried and tested its worth, former students answer this question in the last week of Yr.11 in response to an open ended task entitled, 'Looking Back.' View their heart felt responses on the 'testimonials' page.
So, what makes Shifa School distinct from other Islamic, day schools?
- We offer two distinct curricula: Secondary Curriculum & Islamic Sciences' Curriculum. Pupils study as many as 16 different subjects during their school week. See the 'The Curriculum' pages of the Prospectus link.
- The pupils enjoy and engage with an authentic, traditional Islamic curriculum.
- The school day is not structured so as to create a division between the two curricula. In so doing, pupils understand their deen permeates all aspects of their day.
- Each school day begins with collective ibadah (wird Latif); each lesson and public examination begins with the melodic recitation of Surah Faatihah; each Friday begins with Surah Qahf and lunch time is a time to uphold the prophetic etiquettes of eating.
- Being a small community school, every pupil has a voice at Shifa.
- Class sizes vary from 4-8 pupils, hence, each individual is assisted to reach her real potential.
- As education providers our primary goal is to nurture God consciousness, and so, we believe Ramadaan should be a month like no other during the academic year; the sufferings of others near and far touch us at Shifa and pupil choices concerning their futures are rooted in and coloured by ilm-e-deen. See the Showcase link.
- At Shifa School we do not believe in doing things by halves. Shifa School's latest Ofsted report (2007) vouches for this.
- Are you considering both the short term and long term future of your daughter/s? If so, Shifa School is a choice for the here & now (the dunya) and the Hereafter (the akhirah).
